Los Arabis Vineyards is a microclimate vineyard in Lafayette, in an area known as Lamorinda, just east of the Caldecott tunnel. Our wine is completely hand farmed because of the steep hillside. Dry and silky, with flavors of cola, nutmeg and mace, our Pinot has a sweet finish.
Ward Family Wine
The name Los Arabis comes from the Arabian Horses that ran the hillside for years prior to the vines being planted in 1999. The Ward Family Vineyard is a microclimate plot which provides a the perfect climate for Pinot Noir to thrive.
Our History
Jim and Leslie Ward became interested in winegrowing through a friend who owned a winery. They planted 1,500 Pinot Noir vines in 1999 and had their first wine produced in 2002. They are founding members of the Lamorinda Wine Growers Association since 2005.
Our Wine
Our grapes thrive on a southwestern facing slope just past the coastal fog belt where days are warm and nights are cool. The steep hillside dictates that the vineyard is completely hand farmed. The wines are able to be purchased both online and in fine local restaurants, as well as Total Wines, Diablo Foods, and Jackson’s Liquor. We are currently delivering our wines in Lamorinda with Get Drinks Delivered.
